Quantum Limits Logo Design Contest – Call for Submissions

Dear colleagues,

We are excited to launch a design contest to create the official logo for the Quantum Limits programme, a ten-year collaboration between QuTech and the Department of Quantum Nanoscience at TU Delft, and the Leiden Institute of Physics of Leiden University.

This logo will represent our shared identity as we investigate the fundamental limits of quantum mechanics. More information about the project can be found here: https://qutech.nl/quantumlimits/.

Who can participate: All students, researchers, staff, and affiliates of the participating institutes are invited to submit designs.

What to submit:

• A logo concept that includes “Quantum Limits” .
• Up to 3 entries per person.
• A short description of the idea behind your design (max 50 words).
• Preferred formats: .ai or .eps (300 dpi) for high-resolution vector graphics.

Optional design guidance:

• You may use colour palettes from the QuTech, LION and QN logos (colour codes available on request).
• AI-assisted design is allowed.

Prize: €200 dinner cheque and a t-shirt featuring the final logo.

Deadline: Please submit your design(s) by 30 January 2026

Selection process:

A committee drawn from the consortium leadership will review the submitted designs. All submissions will be sent to the committee anonymously. The logo evaluation criteria include:

• Relevance to the Quantum Limits mission
• Simplicity and scalability (usable on a website, poster, print)
• Visual distinctiveness and clarity
